Linden sighed a silent sigh of relief when she didn't leave, and smirked as she mention his old trick of leaving stuff on the floor. "Yeah, well you always had a thing for bossing people around," he replied, getting comfortable in a chair as he spoke. He tossed his music notebook onto an adjacent counter and pulled his feet up onto the chair, his worn shoes all but falling apart.
"And teenagers are probably in the most need of being told what to do."

Amy's brows furrowed. "That's not how teaching works." Sure, she had authority over her kids, but she didn't sit in front of the class and order them around all day. She taught and explained and interacted with them so that they could move on to 'the real world' outside of school. She really liked to think she was doing something that made a difference, not just preaching to an unwilling adolescent choir. She was offended by what he'd said.
"Though from the looks of you," she crinkled her nose at the destroyed shoes upon the chair. "You could use a bit of bossing."
